In a statement released on 24 Sept, Members of Forum for Secular Bangladesh expressed shock on hearing the news of Sabina Nessa, a primary school teacher murdered in Kidbrooke, South London, on Friday 17th September 2021.
The 28 years old school teacher Sabina was killed 5 minutes away from her flat. Sabina was a very popular teacher in her locality.
The statement signed by Secretary Ruby Hoque and President Syed Enam read, ‘We, pay our respect and condolences to Sabina’s devastated family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers. At the same time, we condemn the frail street safety and security that results in the murder of women frequently on the streets of London. The fight to make our streets safe is far from over. We stand shoulder to shoulder with every woman who has ever felt unsafe. Another tragic end to another young woman’s life. Our thoughts and prayers go to Sabina’s family.’
