BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been shifted with breathing complications to the coronary care unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
Shamsuddin Didar, a member of the BNP chief’s media wing, confirmed the information to The Business Standard.
She was shifted from a cabin to the CCU around 4pm as her breathing problem suddenly worsened, he said.
Another media wing official, Shairul Kabir Khan, said the health condition of Khaleda Zia was stable.
Khaleda Zia, also former prime minister, was admitted to Evercare Hospital on 27 April on the advice of doctors. She is being treated at Evercare Hospital under the care of cardiologist Shahabuddin Talukder. A 10-member medical board was formed for her on April 27.
She was found positive for coronavirus in the tests conducted on 11 April and later on 25 April.
The doctors said Khaleda Zia developed no symptoms like that of Covid-19. She was being treated in the general ward of the hospital.
